Richard "lucky" Luckman, did he finish lucky?

He wrote a powerlifting booklet quiet a while ago and was a tremendous deadlifter at 148 in the 1970s. He regarded himself blessed and lucky despite living inside the prison... Is he finally a free man and did his life continue to turn for the better? From his book he appeared to be a really fine man who found back to the right path. Would be nice to know "lucky Luckman" lived up to his name all in all.
