There have been a lot of things said about NASA and those that run it. The only thing I expressed is regret over the Tucker incident; that's it...I don't know about the other issues lifters are bringing up so I can't ruminate or make fair statements about it..I wasn't there and have not heard the facts..Neither have I been hurt by NASA or it's leadership...I don't believe in name-calling or attacking others without cause...When I say regret, it's regret...My message is clear, precise, and simple..There are two sides to every story, and I noticed on this forum and others, that lifters were making assumptions, often blindly, without getting all the facts or calling Terry. Maybe they didn't even know it was Terry. I noticed when the thread was made that literally assasinated his character, everybody jumped on the bandwagon and said, "Oh yeah, your right, I would have done it this way too. I back you up.." Man, none of you guys even cared to call up Terry or email him to find out what was going on here, and get his side...Those that did, forgive that last statement, but from the looks of things everybody just blindly followed without giving a thought to the other side. I was shocked because I saw some pretty good lifters doing this that actually have some intellectual prowess going along with management just because management said that it should be this way..I still respect these guys, but my question to them is, "Why?"..When I posted something positive about Terry, Job locked the thread on it so people could not read it..People have said, well why don't you keep this thing in-house...How can we, when I post something about Terry it gets locked, Terry has been booted from the forum, and the Executive Committee members keep coming over here and talking about it. None of this facilitates dealing with this IN-HOUSE.
It seems, at times, when a lifter gets at odds with NASA and what they are doing, they are deemed a rebel or someone conspiring to hurt the organization. With me, that's further from the truth, but I realize by standing up for what I believe here that I risk that label. I know I'm being redundant here, but some people are so thick skulled; they interpret the way they want to interpret things..I'm merely saying Terry had rights, the right to be heard; some of you guys that have known him for years and shared the platform with him should have given him his due; at minimum, a call to find out what happened. I'm trying to sort this out in my head...Maybe it's just human nature that we only look at one side of the issue. Often, we are taught to blindly follow authority figures without question...As a child, to the point of it being cliche', I was taught to get all the facts first before I made educated statements..This resonated through my adult life, so it is a moral and ethical leaning that I have difficulty letting go. I'm trying to make sense of what happened...I'll never vilify another lifter for standing up for what he believes in. In fact, that's more important than any total in my book.
