And hitting a ball 10 feet further meant a million dollar contract, then YES I would whole-heartedly agree with you. Clearly the stakes are so high that you cannot possibly rule out drug use, so you must come up with some way to allow a "don't ask, don't tell" policy on steroids.

However, powerlifting is 99% an amateur, teen and college student based, volunteer sport. We have great support from military and police as well, so it in fact jeopardizes their careers to even be close to steroids. Maybe not so much now, but maybe in the future. Why do we want to put so much pressure on hard-working real people and kids to "face reality" and either take steroids or lose? I think the real folks with balls are the ones who argue that even a sport of pure strength should not be assumed to be steroid-friendly. We all know how hard it is to put even 30 lbs. on your squat in a year, but should the base of this sport really expect more gains than that? I think it shouldn't be that easy.

And you may think I am a pussy. I shuffle papers for a living and never even smoke cigarettes. I guess they will laugh me out of Valhalla when I die. But nobody is gonna respect anyone for what they totalled when they die, but rather what they taught and passed on to the next generation.

one opinion worth just as much as yours,
