Came to these boards to discuss PL debates...was not expecting this discussion! Very good points and a vast knowledge base has been demonstrated. May I add a few opinions...yes, simply opinions

1. How can one compare 1 year of data to 100 years of data? And if temperatures have declined in the last year...that does not mean that the earth's trend is getting warmer...maybe simply meaning that the amount of Earth heating slowed down for a year.

2. The Earth does go through cyclical heating and cooling trends. The point has been made that we must then be in a heating trend...but the problem is not that the Earth is getting warmer or that CO2 levels are rising...it is at the RATE at which they are rising has never been recorded before.

I understand the argument of record collection so lets move to a different possible explaination.

Thanks for the opinions everyone. If you want to understand my background...Business degree with three statistics course (This conversation has helped me recollect some past stats topics..so thanks!), two course in Weather and Climate, and yes, I'm a liberal and believe in some sort of global warming :D
