In Response To: of course there's yearly variation (Scott Slaterly)

I'm at odds in what the issue is here. Surely being more efficient in our energy use and lowering carbon emissions nearer to carbon neutral must be good for the planet and surely increased carbon dioxide emissions caused largely by man must be detrimental. Even if the data is wrong, which nearly every scientist in the world in this field would disagree with, what potentially is wrong with more efficient use of resources? Especially considering in the next 20 years a much larger percentage the world will be consuming at a much greater rate (with the growth of China and India).

Put it this way, if 100 doctors told me my child needed this drug or they would die and 1 doctor said don't do anything I think I know who I would follow. I just can't see this great opposition to the issue of increased CO2 production (or global warming if you like)from persons with no background knowledge in the field other than some polititians lobbying.
