Gene,
That was your first meet? You seemed like a veteran to me.
If memory serves, weren't you and Randy Schwartz both trying to beat the Florida state record in the bench that day?

We had some of the greats at those early contests.
The lifter that stands out in my mind, from that meet, was Pat O'Brien. What a deadlifter he was (and maybe still is).
I still have a grainy polaroid of him pulling some bar bending weight in that high school gym.
