Since 1967. Competed in the Junior Nationals in August of 1967.
Used to be an Olympic lifter. Won the 1975 Junior nationals in Lincoln Nebraska. John Inzer and Ricky Crain also won at those Junior Nationals. I believe John Inzer was only about 12 or 13 years old. Won the 1981 Senior Nationals. Was the best second place finisher in the Senior Nationals history not to finish first because of that damm Lamar Gant (best deadlifter ever). Got tired of the poor judging at the IPF and started competing at the WPC where I won a few World titles. In 1997 I became the oldest American lifter to total 10 times bodyweight at the age of 50. In 2005 I believe I became the oldest person to total 10 times bodyweight at the age of 57.
