In Response To: SO HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN LIFTING ? (Tim"THEPEOPLESCHAMP"Bruner)

I started training for football at age 14 in 1970. Came out of football and into bodybuilding in 78. I won my first unsanctioned powerlifting meet around 82 or 83. Won my first sanctioned meet in 86 (USPF Alabama). Got back into football briefly and then out of the gym completely for about 8 years while I took a teaching and coaching job (3 sports) that took all of my time. Anyway, around 96 I got back in the gym and Got the 'Bug' again. My comeback meet was the 2001 WABDL Nationals in Birmingham, Al. winning both the Bench and DL at 220 M-40/46. I did my first full meet of the comeback at Buddy Duke's 2002 USPF Southeastern Championships in Adel, Ga. and I've been doing 4-8 meets per year ever since. My next meet will be the APF Masters, Jr., Teen Nationals in May in Baton Rouge where I'm aiming at a 700+ bench and a 2100+ total for the 1st time at 275 M 50-54. My best total was 2006 in late 2005. I've been steadily improving since shoulder surgery a little over a year ago and have been handling 700-725 off of 2 boards for several weeks now. I should be on course to hit those numbers if the body holds together!
