Your opinion is a worthy one and deserves respect. I have no personal agenda and will lift with whatever rules the USPF adopts, or chooses to maintain. Until this year at the Worlds, I had never even taken an attempt on a Monolift. My first attempt was my opener in the Squat. For this attempt there was no need to move the swing arm...They did move it after I had cleared the hooks, though, since we were in WPF Competition, when they swung it back down the stupid thing shaved off the skin on both hands!!.....I would have much preferred they leave it in place! ...LOL!!

Mike... the Monolift is allowed in the USPF because the membership majority wanted it. We cannot deny the membership their wishes because the apparent minority are opposed to their wishes. If a ground swell of opposition to the Monolift should arise within our ranks, they will surely vote accordingly at the next National gathering this June in Rhode Island. The Monolift question was debated in open discussion by all parties in attendance ...and then Voted on. The entire EC was able to vote...no one was left out.
