I have seen you post before on sinking.My understanding of the rules is sinking is only allowed pre-command to bench.That is,the head judge is not supposed to give the lifter the command to press until he/she sees the bar stop moving.In feds where there are no commands to bench,my guess is the lifter will be red lighted for this.As far as your comments about 500lbs plus benchs being prevalent in the NFL,I think this is very uncommon.Most NFL athletes do not train for maximum.I know there have been a few through the ages,but not many(Bob Young,Ken Snell(fullback for the NY Jets)and a few Cowboys linemen)
