Vladislav Alhazov's 1,250 Squat

Slow news day on goheavy, so I am gonna open this can of worms:

http://www.powerliftingwatch.com/node/7129

1250 lbs, but in a canvas suit.

You can't even try to get depth with less than 700 lbs. in those suits; if you can then it just wasn't tight at all.

Well someday soon maybe we will see a 3000 lb. total. It is a theoretical possibility adding all of the record lifts that someone could get a 3300 total! IF you combined Vlad with Ryan Kennelly and an Andy Bolton.

By comparison, if I saw someone go 800/600/900 = 2300 raw, I would think it was the greatest powerlifting performance imagineable. But that is 1000 lbs shy of what we could see someday with gear!

Is 1 lb. of gear help vs. every 2 lbs. of raw strength really not too much of a distortion?

Not judging the lifter, that guy is amazing no doubt, but this is getting to be a pretty space-aged engineering type of sport, wouldn't you agree?
