squats at ipf worlds

Watching the ipf worlds this year brought to mind two things like 1. how much are these guys getting out of the gear for squats. 2. would the lifts be much less without it.For example Jaroslaw Olech of Poland in the 75kg.class squatted 350kg. with ease looks like he has 375kg. which is 5x BW in the very near future.He also squatted 340kg. in the 67.5 class in 2004 just wondering are all these lifts increasing from gear or are these increasing according to getting raw lifts up.
