Usually no on the head judge Mark........if it appears in the "????" zone from the head judges seat. However, if the lift is obviously sky high and you can see it definitely head on the Red light switch needs to be thrown by the head judge as well. I have red lighted several lifts from the front but it was obvious the lifters altitude was so damned high that there was a possibility they would get a nose bleed from the high altitude. For some reason alot of people coming into the sport in the past decade or so don't think the head judge is supposed to judge depth even if the lifter barely cracks his knees. If the judge sees it he/she needs to call it.
