Oerter familyname and Alfred surname has German roots*. Wow! Never realised that when I read about him, only today. I will tell my German sportsbuddies. Al Oerter is known in Germany among athletes. He did 264 lbs for strict curls I read in Milo. Far above the world record ( ca. 242 lbs) if true. I might be inclined to believe it. Some of the legendary throwers are beyond imagination strong in some muscle groups.

Reinhoudt, Kazmair, Wilhelm, Hoffman and quiet a few others, too
