After reading this post KW one would think you a fighter! The way you showed pride in your fathers sacrifice would even make one believe you would fight to defend him if someone attacked him for committing the crime of wearing a sleeveless shirt. I expected a variety of responses I just didn’t expect anyone to blame the victim. Had I know that wearing a sleeveless shirt to a bar to watch a fight was asking for trouble or breaking the law I would have worn something baggy. I guess all the rape victims in the world had it coming too; they shouldn’t have worn a skirt, dress, tight pants etc. they were asking for it! I was fighting for my right to go where I please, wearing what I please and not be assaulted and battered (please look up the law before you respond).
“Again, sorry I mis-read your post. And, regarding those who have fought and died for my rights and freedoms, I hold them with the greatest respect and honor which you, youngster, perhaps have not seen enough years to understand”.
I do understand! And I have a dream, I have a dream that one day we will live in a world where men can go to bars wearing sleeveless shirts to attract ladies and not be attacked. I have a dream that one day men will be judge by the content of their heart and not the sleeves of their shirt. I will fight for this dream so that one day your son will be able to go to a bar in a sleeveless shirt and have fun with his friends. I may not live to see it but I will be looking down (or up) with a smile on my face.
“Being a young, hang my arms out of my sleeves, looking for trouble, so I can brag to the world about it, knucklehead does NOT, make you brave OR a hero”.
My girl thinks I am… my friends think I’m pretty cool too! Could you write me up a list of things I can no longer do because I decided to lift weights to stay in shape? Apparently, I didn’t get the rule book that says once you hit a certain size you are no longer a free man. To think men died for me to have the same freedoms as everyone else and I screw it up by lifting weights and wearing a sleeveless shirt.
