You missed the point. Many lifters go to Darrell's meets not knowing anything about the sport. THEN, when they decide they like it and feel like getting serious, they look around for a more formal fed.

"I am not knocking Dr. Latch,have never seen him spout any negative talk,nor have I lifted in his federation.But,I personally,would not lift in his federation,if my sole motivation was to compete at a higher level,if what I hear is correct regarding lax judging,no equipment standards.I would want to be judged at the strictest level from the start rather than go to another Fed after Son Light and be disappointed when I bombed out."

That's cool. Just do your own thing and we'll keep having our fun.
