My response to this,why not start out in a fairly well respected federation(standard rules,judging) to begin with if one's motivation is to move up to the "Big Leagues"? The AAPF/APF is a stepping stone federation for those wanting to compete in the WPO.NASA,USAPL,APA,AAU etc... all have state or regional level meets where lifters can cut their teeth before moving on to the national level.I am not knocking Dr. Latch,have never seen him spout any negative talk,nor have I lifted in his federation.But,I personally,would not lift in his federation,if my sole motivation was to compete at a higher level,if what I hear is correct regarding lax judging,no equipment standards.I would want to be judged at the strictest level from the start rather than go to another Fed after Son Light and be disappointed when I bombed out.
