Well, you must've been in Indiana State Fair in Indy on Sunday, because I was at the Wisconsin State Fair in Milwaukee on Saturday. (It's that time of the year for Darrell.)

Yes, what you say is true - Darrell runs a pretty informal meet, with relaxed rules. If you're going there to compete seriously, IMO, you're mistaken. Darrell (Dr. Darrell Latch) draws a huge cross-section of lifters, from many 1st-timers, to world-class lifters. (Former IPF medal winner Mike Hodge, on the comeback trail, hit a clean 700 in a single-ply Katana, in preparation for USAPL Bench Nats, in Denver in Nov.) There were teenagers and women dressed in, civilian' clothes in line next to double-Rage-Xs.

It's a push-pull party - come as you are. He gets a lot of beginners hooked, and many of them go on to other feds. So, take it for what it is.
