In Response To: Raw Unity Meet Proposal (Eric Talmant)

Eric

It's a total waste of time and energy. Raw is for lifters who can not measure up and or compete in real meets. Stop the BS that everyone wants this "RAW DEAL", you and I and everyone knows it's a joke. This is along the lines of "powersports" curl and jumping jacks. What next patty cakes bakers man! You and the the 2 or 3 other guys who say that there is a market out there are goofy.

RAW sucks and it is for the garage gyms and kids who are 2 weeks into a cycle and that's it. Stop trying to re-invent the wheel. Instead try to make the wheel go faster! But you know that is a tougher market to get into. when you try to water down stuff(as you are) then you just creat a muddy playing field and all it does is bogs everything down.

If you are looking to help or improve the sport of powerlifting then get serious and stop trying to sell THE RAW DEAL, we all have had enough RAW DEALS. I am sure Skunkboy is envolved in your mix somewhere so wake up and smell the coffee. If you really want to make a contribution to the sport then take what ever money and time you have and go to your local YMCA and start training some kids and buy then some basic gear. (Belt, knee wraps) and start then off with the true understanding that competition is to go in with the idea to be the best and to do so you must mix it up with the best.

I will even back up my big mouth....I will match every buck you spend when helping other kids with getting into the sport of pwerlifting by staring them on a course of correct rules and gear (knee wraps and belts and when they are ready suits and so on). Just think in 5 or 10 years you may see a kid become a champion in the sport. But at the least he will have learned how to compete with the best and that will take him a long way.

I know today's way of standing out is to break away from the pack and form your own small group so all the lifters can be a winner, champion, and feel as if they are special. Well even those people wake up one day and see that being the best out one is also coming in last.
