crimes with per capita rates? Total numbers don't mean shit when comparing nations with huge differences in population...

On the other hand, if you compare the differences in per capita rates between most W. European nations, Canada, and the United States you'll see that they're not all that significant.

Also:

Read the small print at the bottom of the page. It says "Crime statistics are often better indicators of PREVALENCE OF LAW ENFORCEMENT AND WILLINGNESS TO REPORT CRIME, THAN ACTUAL PREVALENCE." (exphasis added by me)

If you STILL don't understand what this means in relation to the usefulness of the statistics you're happily quoting, let me know and I'll further explicate.
