At the fitness center I train at now a certified personal trainer trying to look good in front of a client asked me what my personal fitness goals were. I asked why and he told me he could help me reach them. I told him I was close to a 600 bench and that I would like to hit 725 as a 242 pounder inside of 12 weeks. He asked if I had ever bench off a ball. I said are you talking about one of those balls for abs? He said yes! I took a guy benching 315 and with dumbbell work on a ball he went to 330 in 3 months! My eyes started to tear and he said don't laugh it worked! You need to get away from powerligting and try something new if you want to get over your plateau. I have worked with a lot of athletes and they all got stronger. I just don’t think they have any idea what strong means to a powerlifter or what impossible means in powerlifting. 600 to 725 in 12 weeks benching off a ball!
