Let me gently disagree with you

Eddie, as a Moderate-to-Liberal, let me state what several of these guys (and most Conservatives in general) perceive:

Today's Blacks aren't slaves, haven't been oppressed and have virtually the same opportunities to advance and succeed as Whites. (in some cases, better opportunities, due to Affirmative Action quotas, etc.) And how has Today's Blacks responded? By doing as bad as ever (or worse) in school, thinking that getting good grades is Acting White; gangs, Black on Black crime, mysoginistic pop culture.

Does traditional white on black racism still exist? Of course, but the court system is much more helpful to remedy those situations than in the old days.

White America agrees with older Blacks - young Blacks just aren't trying hard enough. Pop culture is so pervasive that too many want to be athletes, entertainers, young mothers on welfare, or dancers/strippers.

I've always wondered if Farrakhan wasn't partly right - that Blacks should focus inward, creating a Black economy, as the other ethnic groups have done.

(I know I whipped out a pretty broad brush, but you get the picture.)
