We can vote by listening or not listening. But sponsors can also vote with THEIR dollars. Sometimes, the boycott target can weather the storm, othertimes, not. I see the Southern Baptists just ended their 8 year boycott of Disney (because of Disney's inclusion of homosexuals). (Imus') sponsors thought things would just get worse if he stayed.
It will be interesting to see if Sharpton and Jackson try to pressure Viacom (owner of CBS and BET) with regards to video content.
