Thanks for your response and bringing some issues up that I was thinking about.
I appreciate you letting people have a say in meet decisions and such, it makes everyone feel like you care about making a good meet.
As far as two platforms go, yes it is easier to coach 1 platform, but with the amount of lifters being at collegiates, I think that a shorter day would be far less hassle than having to be at a meet for 12+ hours a day.Plus the flight times in between lifters is way too much with one platform (7-10min max) Thinking back on the 2001 nationals Alexandria LA, I thought the meet ran very smooth and everyone did not seem to have a problem with lifters getting prepared.
As far a judging goes, the USAPL is strict, and I dont mind that. But, I think that we have forgotten the actual rules sometimes. When a squat is deep as described in the rulebook, and it is turned down, then thats a problem. I intend to post pictures of what Im saying, and if the USAPL forum will not post them, they will be on the BSUPL site. I think the judges get used to seeing super deep knees forward olympic squats, then when a wide stanced shins straight lifter breaks by an inch, its no good. Breaking parallel is breaking parallel, whether by an inch or a mile.
