I proposed an age extension at this year's Collegiate meeting, but it was voted down. I got the impression that it was voted down because there is an age limit at the military academies and it would be unfair if other schools could use older students, but not the military academies. I find this a bit silly........I also assume that they can't have people above a certain weight, but we aren't eliminating the 275 and SHW classes to make it perfectly fair for them.

As I mentioned at the meeting, the average age of a student at our school (and I'm sure many other schools) is 25. The average student is too old to compete! In fact, over 1/3 of our team is too old.

I would like to see the age limit totally removed (like the NCAA). But, if thats not possible, I think the age limit should at least be raised to a reasonable age.
